Postcards from Paris!
Our Year 8 students have been developing their descriptive writing skills by creating postcards from an imaginary trip to Paris all written in the past tense.
We were so impressed with the beautifully extended sentences and thoughtful descriptions from Oscar, Alana, Maria and Virginia. Their writing truly brought the sights, sounds and atmosphere of Paris to life, from wandering along the Seine to admiring the Eiffel Tower.
It has been wonderful to see their progress, especially as many were learning the features of a postcard and where each part should go.
We are so proud of their effort, creativity and enthusiasm and look forward to sharing more fantastic examples soon.

Kingsway Park High School students recently attended their first-ever ballet performance, watching The Nutcracker at The Opera House, Manchester.

For many students, this was also their first visit to a large-scale theatre, and the experience left a lasting impression. From the grandeur of the auditorium to the power of the live orchestra and performance, the evening provided an important opportunity to engage with the arts in a new and meaningful way.

The visit forms part of our ongoing commitment to broadening cultural experiences and ensuring our students feel confident accessing spaces such as theatres, galleries and performance venues.

Kingsway Park High School Supports National Apprenticeship Week 2026

National Apprenticeship Week (9–15 February) celebrates the fantastic opportunities apprenticeships provide – from gaining real workplace experience to earning nationally recognised qualifications.

At Kingsway Park High School, we’re proud to encourage our students to explore all their post-16 pathways, including apprenticeships, further education, and vocational training. We’re here to support our students in finding the pathway that’s right for them.

Children’s Mental Health Awareness Week at Kingsway Park High School 💚

This week, we are proud to be recognising Children’s Mental Health Awareness Week with a whole-school focus on the theme “We Belong.”
Throughout the week, students have been exploring what belonging means within our community — reflecting on respect, inclusion, positive relationships and the importance of feeling connected.
We have also been highlighting the support available in school through Place2Be, including one-to-one counselling and Place2Talk drop-in sessions, reminding students that support is always available.
At KPHS, creating a culture where every young person feels safe, valued and heard remains at the heart of what we do.
Kingsway Park High School is a community where everyone matters — and everyone belongs.
