🎥 Changing Our Mindset Towards Challenge This week, our Headteacher talks about changing our mindset towards challenge. Rather than seeing challenge as something negative, he encourages our students to see it as something they can work hard to overcome and be successful in. He challenges our students to focus on three important areas: attending school regularly, demonstrating positive behaviour through respect and kindness, and making the most of their learning by asking and answering questions and completing their work. Parents and carers can support by talking to their children about their day – what they have learnt, what they have found difficult and, importantly, what challenges they have overcome. By working together, we can help every student continue to make progress and achieve their potential. Celebrating World Teachers’ Day Today, 5 October, marks World Teachers’ Day. It is a day to recognise the contribution teachers make to education and the lives of young people around the world. The date marks the anniversary of a 1966 international recommendation that set out standards for teachers’ rights, responsibilities and working conditions. At Kingsway Park High School, we would like to thank our teachers for their dedication, patience and care. Through the knowledge they share, the encouragement they offer and the support they provide, they help our students build confidence and reach their potential. And while today may be called World Teachers’ Day, this thank you extends far beyond our classroom teachers. It is for our TAs, pastoral teams, support staff and every colleague across our school who contributes to the lives of our young people. Education is a collective effort, and we simply could not do what we do without each other. Thank you for the difference you make every day.

A Fantastic Achievement for Our Young Sports Leaders! A huge well done to Year 9 students Safa and Kayla, who have both gained their Young Sports Leaders Qualification! Representing Kingsway Park High School at the Manchester United training ground, Safa and Kayla demonstrated fantastic resilience, courage and confidence throughout the day. They took part in mini group games and challenges that tested their teamwork and delivery skills. Towards the end of the day, they had the exciting opportunity to lead and coach first-team players! Safa and Kayla were also invited to take part in an interview, where they gave an overview of the day and reflected on what they had learnt. We are very proud of their achievement and the way they represented Kingsway Park High School. Well done, Safa and Kayla! 👏

From Individual Flowers to One Amazing Artwork During our Open Evening, prospective Year 5 and 6 students were invited to get creative and help us recreate Vincent van Gogh’s iconic Sunflowers. Each student designed and created their own individual paper sunflower, adding their own creativity and personality to the piece. The flowers were then brought together to create this fantastic large-scale collaborative artwork. From just a few sunflowers to a vase overflowing with colour, the finished piece is a wonderful celebration of creativity, collaboration and community. A huge thank you to everyone who contributed a sunflower – every single one helped bring our artwork to life! 💛
