Students and staff enjoyed a range of Eid celebrations ahead of the half-term break, including community games under the canopy, henna, a special Eid-themed lunch menu, Eid Mubarak cards and chocolates, and sweet treats at the coffee station.
It was lovely to see everyone embracing the spirit of celebration, reflection, and togetherness. Our Eid decorations will also remain up for the first day back after the holidays to continue the celebrations.

Another Fantastic Performance from our SEMH Football Team! ⚽

Well done to our SEMH Football team, who won 5 games, drew 1 and lost just 1 in the latest SEMH Football tournament. Their outstanding performances have increased their lead at the top of the table to 19 points ahead of second place, with one tournament day still to go.

The team are now just one step away from winning and retaining the tournament title and bringing home the trophy for the third year in a row — an incredible achievement!

We are extremely proud of the commitment, teamwork and determination shown by all of the players. Keep it going team!👏

Bronze Medal Success at the North West Regional Boccia Tournament!

A huge congratulations to our students Haider, Alfie, Mia and Amber for achieving Bronze medals in the North West Regional Boccia Tournament at Bolton Arena. They used brilliant skill and co-ordination to win all of their games in the group stage and reach the semi-final, where they narrowly lost out to the eventual winners.

The students then showed excellent resilience and mentality in the third-place final, winning 3–0 to secure the Bronze medals. We are incredibly proud of their achievement — well done everyone!

What did we do at KPHS? | Kindness in Action

During Mental Health Awareness Week, Kingsway Park High School focused on showing how cooperation and kindness can support positive mental health.

Throughout the week, students took part in:
- Appreciation (Kindness) Cards
- Wellbeing Bookmarks
- Random Acts of Kindness
- Lunchtime Games
- Positive wellbeing stickers and posters

We also continued our partnership with Place2Be, providing students with opportunities to access wellbeing support and speak to trusted adults in a safe and supportive environment.

The week reminded us that even small acts of kindness can have a powerful impact — creating stronger friendships, improving wellbeing, and helping our whole school community feel more connected.

At KPHS, kindness and cooperation continued to make a difference every day.

Year 10 Students Explore the World of Radio & Podcasting in Manchester!

Year 10 students from Kingsway had an amazing experience attending a media and radio event in Manchester!
As part of the trip, students completed a course in radio and podcast presenting, developing their communication, confidence, and broadcasting skills.
The group also enjoyed a visit to the iconic Old Trafford and the Gaydio studios, where they stepped behind the microphone to record their own radio presentation and a 10-minute podcast.
A fantastic opportunity for our students to gain hands-on experience in the media industry and explore exciting future career pathways!

Mental Health Awareness Week | Turning Awareness into Action

At Kingsway Park High School, we are continuing our focus on Mental Health Awareness Week and this year’s theme: ACTION

But what does action really mean?
Action is not separate from awareness – it is what naturally follows it. When we learn more about mental health, recognise early signs of difficulty in ourselves or others, and understand where to find support, we are already taking action.

Action doesn’t have to be big
In fact, some of the most powerful actions are small and part of our everyday lives.
These can include:
- Talking to someone you trust
- Checking in on a friend
- Taking a short walk or fresh air break
- Pausing to breathe and reset
Small, consistent actions like these can build stronger wellbeing over time and help us feel more in control, especially during challenging moments.

Action for yourself
We all have the ability to support our own mental health. Simple routines such as getting enough sleep, eating well, moving your body, or practising calming techniques can make a real difference to how we feel day to day.

Action for others
Sometimes action is simply showing kindness. A conversation, a smile, or listening without judgement can make a real difference to someone who may be struggling. Small moments of connection matter more than we realise.

Action for the bigger picture
Action also means helping to create a community where mental health is understood, supported, and valued—both in school and beyond.

At Kingsway Park High School, we believe that when we act together, we build a stronger, kinder community.

Proposed Changes to the School Day at KPHS

Mental Health Awareness Week | 11–17 May 2026

At Kingsway Park High School, we are proud to be supporting Mental Health Awareness Week, taking place 11th–17th May 2026.
This year’s national theme is ACTION – because awareness alone isn’t enough. It’s about taking positive steps to support our mental health and wellbeing every day.
As a school, we are also focusing on our own theme: “We Cooperate”
Because while individual actions matter, we are even stronger when we come together, support one another, and work as a community.

Why is this so important?
According to NHS England:
▸1 in 5 children aged 8–16 have a probable mental health disorder
▸Eating disorders affect 12.5% of 17–19 year olds
▸Suicide remains the leading cause of death for 5–35 year olds in England
▸Almost a third of 13–24 year olds have self-harmed or attempted self-harm

According to Young Minds:
▸30% of 11–16 year olds with a probable mental health disorder miss a week or more of school
▸Over half of all mental health conditions begin before the age of 14
These figures remind us why talking about mental health, supporting each other, and acting truly matters.

This week is about:
▸Speaking up and checking in with others
▸Taking positive action for your own wellbeing
▸Supporting a culture of kindness, cooperation, and understanding

A Special Moment for Our Year 11s

Today was a truly special moment at Kingsway Park High School as each Year 11 student received a personalised letter from a member of staff during a dedicated assembly.

The PROUD Letter initiative once again proved to be one of the most emotional and meaningful events of the year, as staff reflected on the journeys our students have taken, celebrated their achievements, and shared heartfelt words of encouragement for the future.

There were smiles, tears, laughter and countless proud moments as students read messages written especially for them by staff who have supported them throughout their time at Kingsway.
Students were also reminded that success is not always easy, and that even the most successful people need support along the way. Through inspiring videos and messages, they were encouraged to believe in themselves, ask for help when needed, and recognise that feeling nervous is completely normal — it simply shows how much they care.

“The Kingsway, the way that we do things around here” continues to define our school community, and today was another powerful reminder of the care, encouragement and support our students receive every day.
We are incredibly proud of our Year 11 cohort and everything they will go on to achieve.
