Curriculum Overview
"Nothing of importance can be built and expected to last without having a strong foundation to build upon."
A curriculum is broadly defined as the totality of student experiences that occur in the educational process. At Kingsway Park High School we want to ensure we are guided by the following principles through our curriculum:
-
Inclusive and equitable
-
Characterised by quality learning
-
Promoting lifelong learning
-
Relevant to holistic development
In saying that, we work together to create opportunities for our young people. In line with the Altus Education Partnership to create happy and fulfilled lives for the children of Rochdale, the curriculum is at the heart of our provision to ensure equality of opportunity for all our students. It aims to develop character, competence, and community in all of our students, emphasising the importance of strong foundations to ensure that all our children and young people are equipped with the skills and knowledge they need so that they can be socially responsible citizens and engage in society as a whole regardless of their starting points.
