GCSE Textiles
Introduction
At KPHS, the Textiles curriculum enables students to design and create textile products using a range of materials, techniques and processes. Students develop practical skills alongside creative thinking, learning how ideas are developed from initial concepts through to finished outcomes.
The curriculum supports all students to build confidence, independence and attention to detail. Students are encouraged to take pride in their work, reflect on their progress and improve their designs over time. By the time they leave KPHS, students have developed strong creative and technical skills, preparing them for further study and real-world applications.
How Textiles Supports Our School Values
We Co-operate
Students work alongside others during practical tasks, sharing resources, ideas and feedback. They develop positive working relationships and learn the importance of supporting one another.
We Pioneer
Textiles encourages students to experiment with materials and techniques, refining their ideas and overcoming challenges. They develop determination, creativity and the confidence to improve their work.
We Belong
All students are supported to succeed in a welcoming and inclusive environment. By developing their own designs and personal style, students gain confidence and feel valued as individuals within the classroom.
