Year 10 Work Experience – Parents/Carers Meeting

As part of our Year 10 Work Experience programme, we are inviting Year 10 parents and carers to attend an information meeting at Kingsway Park High School on Thursday 8 October 2026 at 4.30pm.

The meeting will provide further information about key dates, finding a suitable work experience placement, next steps and how parents and carers can support their young person throughout the process. 

Year 10 Work Experience is due to take place week commencing 5 July 2027. We encourage students and their families to start thinking about placements early and plan ahead.

During Year 10, all students at Kingsway Park High School have the opportunity to take part in a work experience placement. Work experience is an important part of preparing students for their future, giving them the chance to experience a real working environment and learn more about the world of work.

Throughout the year, students will receive support and guidance to help them find a suitable placement, prepare for their experience and understand what to expect in the workplace. Parents and carers also play an important role in supporting students as they plan and prepare for their placement.

Taking part in work experience allows students to develop valuable skills such as communication, teamwork, independence, confidence and professionalism. It can also help students explore possible career pathways and provide useful experience for future applications to college, apprenticeships and employment.

Year 10 Work Experience 2026/27
Work experience is due to take place week commencing 5 July 2027. Students are encouraged to start thinking about and arranging their placements as early as possible.

If your child requires any additional support with finding or securing a work experience placement, please speak to Ms Ozluk. Support is available with writing emails to employers, making telephone calls and contacting potential employers.

Students are encouraged to ask for help if they are unsure how to approach an employer or need guidance with the next steps.
