Letter to Parents – 21 Jun 22

Dear Parent/Carer,

We wanted to let you know that as of yesterday, Mrs Langley has decided to step down from her role as headteacher at Kingsway Park High School. The Trust have thanked Mrs Langley for all the work she has done at the school and wished her the very best in her future endeavours.

The immediate function of running the school will be managed by our head of secondary improvement, Shelley Barlow. She will take up the position of acting headteacher and will be supported by the SLT and Altus Academy Trust. Presently we envisage this temporary arrangement will be in place until the end of the Autumn term, with the aim of a new full-time headteacher starting in January 2023.

We have spoken to the school staff today to outline the details of the change in leadership and pupils will be spoken to in assemblies this week.

Finally, I just wanted to say that the Trust and the staff of KPHS will continue to work together over the forthcoming weeks to ensure that Kingsway Park continues to operate as normal and provide an excellent and well-rounded education for the young people in our care.

Yours faithfully,

David Roberts, Chair KPHS LGB                       Shelley Barlow, Acting Headteacher
