GCSE Ready Evening
Thursday 21st September 17:00-18:30
At KPHS, we constantly strive to ensure that your child’s learning experience is tailored to their individual needs, aspirations, and interests. With this in mind, we are providing all Year 11 students with the opportunity to attend our GCSE Ready evening in order to help maximise their outcomes. This event will help to engage, motivate, and prepare both yourselves and your children for the year ahead. Year 11 is one of the most important years in your child’s academic career and we want to ensure that we provide them with the resources, vital information, and guidance they require in order for them to achieve their very best outcomes in Summer.
Upon arrival to the evening students will receive a wallet filled with revision resources, essential stationary and helpful information about each subject and their exam boards. Students will also receive a raffle ticket to win a range of prizes including a full supply of revision guides and Amazon vouchers. The evening will then comprise of two separate parts. You will have the opportunity to attend one of our presentations at either time outlined below:
17:00 – 17:30 | Presentation 1
· Mrs Bailey - Revision strategies, wellbeing and parental guidance for preparing for GCSE. · Mr Johnson – Exam procedures, preparation, and mock exams |
17:30 – 18:00 | Presentation 2
· Mrs Bailey - Revision strategies, wellbeing and parental guidance for preparing for GCSE. · Mr Johnson – Exam procedures, preparation, and mock exams |
Once you have attended one of the presentations you will then have the opportunity to explore our subject stands in the hall. Here we will have a range of different teaching staff on hand to answer any subject specific questions or queries. Each subject will provide you with revision resources, helpful tips, and overviews of each subject area. Staff will also provide any revision booklets made by KPHS staff or introduce you to external revision guides that we recommend. These will be available to be purchased on the night.
ParentPay
You will have the opportunity to purchase external revision resources at this event from multiple different subjects. These will need to be purchased via ParentPay. Any students who do not have a ParentPay login will receive a letter on Monday in assembly in order to allow you to set an account up prior to our event on Thursday. You will visit the stands and receive a voucher if you wish to purchase one of their revision guides. When you are ready to exit you will collect your guides to take home by showing staff your receipt on Parentpay.
Finally, this evening will provide you with a wealth of information about the year ahead and we would really appreciate as many parents, carers and students attending as possible. We look forward to seeing you then.
Yours faithfully,
Mrs D Bailey Mr A Johnson
