As part of the new GCSE Photography course students are given the opportunity to take photographs of their surrounding area as well as look at different historical aspects of architecture.
Victoria Baths opened in 1906 and was built to cater for all Manchester residents, either for swimming or for bathing. The bath house has three swimming pools which all KPHS students had access to. Currently the pools are not actively open for swimming but have recently been used for a wide variety of events such as gin festivals, beer festivals, dance competitions, weddings and even for filming for BBC television programmes.
Students were given a tour around the building and had the opportunity to ask questions about the building and its functions. Once the tour was over students were given independent access to use their camera’s and take images of different aspects of the structure.
