Letter to Parents – Chester Zoo (Year 7 Rewards)

Dear Parent/Carer

Kingsway Park High School will be holding a Year 7 Rewards Trip for students on Monday 11 July 2022 to visit ‘Chester Zoo’.

We feel very strongly that children should be given the opportunity to extend their education beyond the classroom and that this visit allows students to practise skills which will benefit them both in school and in their wider lives. Our visit to Chester Zoo will encourage them to work as part of a team, to follow instructions precisely and to read a map. They will also spend time learning about the variety of animals with their tutors, teachers and friends.

Every year 7 student is expected to attend this enrichment opportunity, but should there be a decline in the behaviour of a student, then they will not be allowed on this trip and will stay in school.

Students will need to be at school for 8.20am in preparation for departure. We will leave school at 8.45am and return at approximately 4.00pm. All students should be in full school uniform.The voluntary contribution for this trip is £18.00.This includes access to the zoo and travel expenses and is heavily subsidised by our school. The trip may be cancelled if insufficient funds are collected. A lunch bag will be available for those students on free school meals, alternatively students may bring a packed lunch or buy food at the zoo. Students do not need any money for this day, however they may bring a small amount to spend on a souvenir or treat.

Please make the payment of £18.00 and complete the online consent form on ParentPay no later than Friday 17 June.
