Jodrell Bank Visit

Jodrell Bank Visit

Year 8 students travelled from Kingsway Park High School to visit the iconic, and newly awarded World Heritage site, Jodrell Bank.  Situated in stunning grounds, Jodrell Bank is home to the world famous Lovell Radio Telescope.  It is the third largest radio telescope in the world and can be seen from all around Manchester and spends it’s time listening for signals from outer space. Students were in awe at the size of the radio telescope and were full of questions about how it works and what it is for. Lead Science Teacher, Mr G Higham, commented, ‘The visit was an amazing experience for all students on and has inspired some to look into studying Astrophysics in the future.
