Topic Intent: This module encourages students to discuss holiday preferences and experiences. It also allows for discussions of Spain and other Hispanic countries, hopefully widening their world-wide view. Within this module KS3 tenses can be consolidated and the simple future tense is introduced. There are also aspects of transactional language which builds on the Y8 ‘las vacaciones’ module. | Topic Intent: This module allows students to talk about their local area, a context that they are all familiar with. It also allows for discussions of Spain and other Hispanic countries, widening their world-wide view. Within this module KS3 tenses can be consolidated. Students will expand their vocabulary and start to acquire GCSE level vocabulary. | Topic Intent: As school is a big part of a Y10s life, it’s a context that they are all familiar with. It allows for discussion on how education may differ across the world and also for the consolidation of tenses and opinions. Comparatives, Superlatives and the imperfect tense will also be introduced in the context of school. School is also a great topic to look at different education systems in Hispanic countries. | Topic Intent: It allows for students to practise a range of opinions and tenses. It is also during the summer term that they Y10s start to have F.E taster days and some have the opportunity to take part in work experience and therefore it will be a topic that will be at the forefront of their thinking at this time. It will also allow staff to discuss what Spanish is like at F.E. and H.E. with the sub-topic of the importance of learning languages. | ||

| Assessment: This module will be assessed as part of the End of Year assessment which covers all vocab studied so far at KPHS. There will be three End of Year Assessments: Listening, Reading and Writing Percentage grade awarded. Completed Summer 2 Y10 will also have the opportunity to complete a speaking exam at the end of Summer 2. | ||
Home Learning: Each week students will receive a crossword to complete in Spanish of some core high frequency vocab. The list of vocab can be found here. Students who do not complete their homework on time will receive a catch up from their teacher to complete the homework on the same day. Teachers will award classchart points to those who consistently complete homework on time. Each half term there is an extended cultural homework which is optional but for those students who wish to go the extra mile with their learning. | |||||
