Overall Curriculum Goals

1.     Baseline Assessment – Creating forename and surname mathematically, adding gradient shading. Students investigate the Primary and Secondary colours

2.     Angie Lewin artist investigation – Polystyrene printing and mono printing. Students will also draw from observation.

3.     Textiles/Sewing - Based on the animated film ‘Ugly Dolls’ students create a felt Ugly Doll, using a variety of sewing techniques.

4.     Michael Craig-Martin artist investigation – Students look at perspective in drawing, and painting with watercolours.

  • Students focus on their drawing ability, using a ruler to measure proportions to draw out their name.
  • Investigation into Primary colours and how to make Secondary colours.
  • Gradient shading – from dark to light smoothly – control of pencil and pencil crayons.

  • Engraving into polystyrene to create a printable tile.
  • Creating a double print using two coloured printing inks.
  • Identifying the work of artist Angie Lewin who will inspire the students' outcomes with their polystyrene prints.
