Birds of Prey Demonstration

Birds of Prey Demonstration

Kingsway Park High School recently invited Ms R Wilkinson to their Science Department, with her Aviary Collection.  The birds of prey were demonstrated to Year 7 students throughout the morning. On display were American kestrel, Peregrine Falcon, Little Owl, Tourney Owl and an American Eagle Owl, which captured and amazed the minds of the students while increasing their knowledge about adaptation, variation and competitions within eco-systems.

“Not even the weather could dampen the spirits of KPHS staff and students during this unique event” commented Mr Higham, Lead Science Teacher, deeming the day a huge success.

Dr Hickling, Second in Science, commented “I liked in depth knowledge from Ms Wilkinson, learning about these fascinating animals. The American Eagle Owl had a real wow factor”

This display attracted many staff from all departments to visit the birds, further signifying the importance and fascination we all have in Science. This display was just one of the many events occurring within the Science department over recent weeks.
