Annual Mock Trial Competition

A group of Year 9 Citizenship students from Kingsway Park High School took part in the annual Mock Trial competition against five other local schools at Burnley Magistrates Court recently.  The students won both of their rounds representing KPHS in their strongest performance yet before being beaten on points.

The Mock Trial competition gives students an invaluable opportunity to take on the roles of prosecuting and defending lawyers, witnesses and magistrates in a real court setting amongst serving court officials and to explore what careers in law may have to offer.

Mr Davies, Teacher at KPHS, commented on how good an opportunity this event is for the students who are studying Citizenship in school, and gives an insight into future careers for students.
