Dear Parent/Carer,

As always you are due thanks for your support and apologies for the ongoing disruption caused by bubble closures – we do know and appreciate that life is still unpredictable and disrupted at the moment and we are so grateful for your patience and understanding.

As you will know, there are some changes to the guidance for schools for next year and some recommendations for schools about opening safely. One of these is that we should ensure a testing offer for all students before they return to school in September and continue to provide the test kits.

In order to make sure we can offer two tests to all students we need to push back our start dates by a day. This means that

Y7 will now start with us on TUESDAY 7th September, and,

Y8-Y11 return on WEDNESDAY 8th September, at slightly staggered times for this day only. The term dates on the website have been updated to show this. This means that we can offer two testing days for all years before they return to school in hopes we can have the safest possible start to the year.

The start in September will look like this:

Year Group

Testing Days - Students will be asked to drop in on site, times to follow

I am optimistic that we won’t need to change this, but as ever, guidance changes frequently and if we do need to change it we will communicate with you as quickly as possible. In any event we will remind you nearer the time!

Don’t forget that the students finish at 12o’clock on Friday 16th July, and they can wear non-uniform on that day.

For now – thank you as always, stay safe and look after each other,

Yours Faithfully,

Mrs J Langley
