I write as we reach the end of term – and inevitably everything has changed since I wrote to you last week!
Since then the government has asked schools to open for Y11 only on January 4th to allow some time to explore the logistics of using regular testing in schools. While it is not easy to see exactly how this will be implemented at the moment, we will be working with our partners in Rochdale to try and understand how this could work and what might be able to be done.
This means that on January 4th, ONLY Y11 will return to school, and they should attend for 9am, we will still be running their Health and Safety briefing before sending them off to lessons.
All other students, Y7-10, should stay home and we will contact you on the 4th, by phone, via their form tutors, to explain what will happen that week for them all in terms of remote learning, which will be running from 5th and 6th depending on how quickly we can re-assign all the Teams groups. We will also inform you then of the plans and times for their return to school in person which will be later that week, and by 11th January.
If your child attended school due to specific circumstances during lockdown earlier this year, or needs to in January, we will discuss this with you by phone on 4th and make those arrangements.
I am so sorry for the very late change to our plans and I hope that it does not cause you too much disruption, as always, please let us know if there is anything we can do.
I do want to take this opportunity to wish you all a very restful holiday and thank you, for all your support this term,
