Dear Parent/Carer,

Re FACE MASKS in schools:

I write to update you on the local PH guidance as it stands at the moment, as it relates to face masks. While there was a national announcement on this some time ago which indicated face masks might not be necessary in schools, local information and Public Health guidance suggests that we should not change our current position.

This means that face masks are still compulsory in the overwhelming majority of local schools, and this includes Kingsway. Therefore please can I ask for your support in ensuring the students attend on Monday and wear their masks with the same good grace and maturity they have so far; it is a mark of their respect for each other and each other’s families that they wear their masks as well as they do and it is important this continues for now.

We are determined to continue to do all we can to reduce the risk of bubble closures and as things stand, the wearing of a face mask is a very simple action we can all take to keep this risk down, as well as to keep reducing the risk of transmission generally, so please support us in this and let the students know that they will still need those face masks on Monday!

In the meantime, have a lovely weekend – and thank you as always for your support,

Yours sincerely
