We have been busy this week arranging our plans for the safest possible return to school in the shortest possible time and I write today to update you on these.
As I have said before, we are a large school and have a lot of tests to get through as well as a lack of space to conduct tests while also teaching a full school! However, we don’t want to delay the return for some year groups by dragging out the process, so we have decided that we will run a full and comprehensive three test offer before we open so that all students can attend as quickly as possible. This means that KPHS will re-open to ALL students (unless isolating) on Wednesday 10th March, and they will attend at the following times:
They will leave school on a slight stagger, as before Christmas and I will confirm this when I write next week.
The details and times for your child’s 3 testing appointments commencing Monday 1st March and running until Tuesday 9th March will be sent to them via email, (please remind them to check it regularly!) posted on our website and you will get text reminders asking them to check the details. The results of each test will be sent to the telephone number and/or email address that you provided when you gave consent.
For now – we absolutely want to make sure that our return is as smooth and safe as possible, so please prepare your child for the expectation that they must return willing to wear their mask, to move sensibly about the school and to keep a calm sense of control at all times. However – most of all do let them know that we can’t wait to see them – and, if they are in Y11, to be aware how important these last few weeks will be in determining their final grade!
