Dear Y11 Parent/Carer,

I am so sorry to be writing to you as we have taken the decision to close to Y11 for 14 days as a result of a positive case. This is a devastating decision, as I know how hard many of them are trying to work at the moment, but despite my best efforts I have been unable to reduce the size of the bubble this time.

However – from January we are going to make some adjustments to their timetable that will reduce the size of the bubble within the year group – so it is important that they use this time to make sure they are up to date with all their work so far this term in order to make that transition to new bubbles smooth. They will still follow their full timetable.

During this closure you should also see that they are asked to do more work – lessons will be online throughout the day and assignments and extra work will be set. If they are due their careers interview this will take place by phone, they will be chased for their college applications – and you will receive information if they have missed any lessons so that you can nag them to get online with us too!

If you have any questions, please get in touch with us – it is important that we make sure they still feel part of school even while working from home – but it is just as important that you are supported as a parent so do ask if you are struggling with anything.

Yours sincerely
