Dear Parent/Carer,

Incredibly the time has come for us to prepare to say goodbye to our Y11 students, who have been inspiring, resilient and patient in equal measure this year.

I have said before that they have done well, but I want to repeat that here. They have been excellent.

However, it is time now to let them have some freedom and as such they will be leaving us around 12 o’clock lunchtime on Friday 28th May, after a “Leavers’ Gathering” in the restaurant which will be as “normal” as we can possibly make it for them so they do have that feeling of the rite of passage that is leaving school.

I am expecting them to manage that day with the same maturity they have displayed all year, so do make sure they know they are entitled to a great day – and also have a responsibility to conduct themselves well during it. It is important that they do not let themselves or each other down right at the end.

There are lots of online materials for them for after half term as well as a series of online live classes for students opting for certain subjects next year – they will receive all this information on Friday and we will keep in touch with them via email during the next few weeks too. Finally – please know that we are here, for them and for you if you need anything in the coming weeks.

Best wishes for now!

Yours sincerely
