I am writing to thank you all for such a good start to the new school year – the students have attended with positive attitudes and smart uniform despite an unusually warm September! An especially big thank you (and welcome) to all parents of Y7 – you have done a brilliant job getting them ready for this transition and they have done you proud.
This year Kingsway Park High School is beginning an exciting new partnership with the Manchester United Foundation this year and this means we can create a range of opportunities for students within school and as extra-curricular clubs and events. We are also working with a range of partners to open our site up for more community use in the evenings and at weekends, so we are planning for an exciting year ahead!
As we get a little further into the year you will hear from us with details of things like Open Evening, Parents’ Evenings etc. For now I do have a request and that is about parking and car access; we have very little space for dropping off and collecting, so we do ask that you don’t try to drive onto the site unless by arrangement where you may have a child with mobility issues. It is really important that we keep everyone safe and the volume of traffic created at the start and end of the day is challenging for us to manage.
Additionally, our neighbours are so supportive of us in all areas – please respect their rights and do not park on any of the double yellow lines, or block driveways etc. Staff here will always supervise at the start and end of the day but we do need your help in reducing risk; please park further away and meet the children at a safe spot, or walk up to meet them instead, it takes a few minutes more but it is so much more respectful of local residents – and so much safer too.
Otherwise, once again thank you for al your support. It is absolutely brilliant to see all our students again and to have something that feels a bit more like “normal”!
