Citizenship Teacher (With Health and Social Studies)
Salary: MPS/UPS
To start September 2022 (or sooner)
Kingsway Park High School was established in 2010 and joined the Altus Education Partnership in February 2022. We are now a very popular oversubscribed school (1350 students in years 7-11 and 190 staff) located in central Rochdale. We are very proud of the high-quality facilities, resources, and environment that we provide for both staff and students. We hold our school values of Kindness, Perseverance, Helpfulness, and Success at the core of everything we do and everything we expect from our students.
We are currently looking to appoint a new Citizenship Teacher who has a real passion for their subject and is up to date with best practice and raising outcomes in Citizenship. We are looking for a candidate who ideally also has experience in delivering Health and Social studies at Key Stage 4.
Citizenship at KPHS forms part of the larger Social Sciences department at KPHS and lessons in Key Stage 3 are taught as social studies which is a blend of RE, Citizenship and RSE. The key stage 4 offer within this department is RE, Citizenship and RE. The Social Sciences department at Kingsway Park High School is a supportive department that is well resourced with 4 teaching rooms. There is a large work area for staff within the department to encourage collaborative planning, regular communication and assessment moderation. We want someone who has and delivers a clear vision, is a great classroom practitioner, and has a real thirst for high quality teaching and learning. The new Citizenship teacher will be supported by an experienced Head of Department and will have work alongside experienced practitioners.
