Citizenship Lead and Second in Social Science

Salary: Main scale plus TLR2b

To start January 2023

Kingsway Park High School was established in 2010 and joined the Altus Education Partnership in February 2022. We are now a very popular oversubscribed school (1350 students in years 7-11 and 190 staff) located in central Rochdale. We are very proud of the high-quality facilities, resources, and environment that we provide for both staff and students. We hold our school values of Kindness, Perseverance, Helpfulness, and Success at the core of everything we do and everything we expect from our students.

We are currently looking to appoint a new Citizenship Lead and Second in Social Science who has a real passion for their subject and is up to date with best practice and raising outcomes in Citizenship. We are looking for a candidate who ideally also has experience in delivering PSHE, RS and Health and Social Care.

Citizenship at KPHS forms part of the larger Social Science department. The key stage 4 offer within this department is RE, Citizenship and Health and Social Care. The Social Science department at Kingsway Park High School is a supportive department that is well resourced with 5 teaching rooms. There is a large work area for staff within the department to encourage collaborative planning, regular communication and assessment moderation. We want someone who has and delivers a clear vision, is a great classroom practitioner, and has a real thirst for high quality teaching and learning. The new Citizenship Lead will be supported by an experienced Head of Department and will work alongside a passionate team.
